Grillo Releases the Climber MAGNUM

1/7/07
AgriGarden Distributors has released a new model to the Grillo "Climber" steep gradient mowing range.  The Climber range has been designed with low centre of gravity and a well balanced weight distribution to enable them to work safely on slopes and rough areas beyond the capability of conventional ride on mowers and small tractors.  Climbers are designed to mow safely up and down slopes to 33 degrees, and up to 17 degrees across slopes - even on difficult, slippery terrain.  Climbers excell in steep terrain, unlike most American machines that are designed for flat terrain.

The New Climber 9.21 Magnum combines the features of the Climber 910 Plus but with a 1.3meter (51") deck.  This Climber is designed for awns where a quality finish is required.   The additional width increases productivity significantly.  The deck can be configured to rear discharge (longer grass - up to 30cm tall) and mulch (quality finish).

The Grillo Magnum features front brakes, hyrdrostatic transmission (complete with differential lock), electromagnetic clutch and park brake.  The differential lock is the key to increasing traction and control on slopes and in slippery conditions.  The Magnum comes with Ag tyres for hilly slippery conditions, and turf tyres are available as an option.

Vineyard acquires Grillo FD1500

01/04/07
The new Grillo FD1500 is completely unique - there’s nothing quite like it on the market. So we’re excited to announce that the first of these awesome machines has been purchased by Duck Creek Estate near Warkworth. Graham MacDonald, took delivery of a Grillo FD1500 last month for his property which consists of a vineyard and olive tree plantation.

The engineering advancements on the FD1500 in this class of mower are revolutionary. Independent hydraulic motors on each wheel, full time 4WD, hydraulic wheel circuit locking, automatic reverse blower on the fan to keep the filter clear, and hydraulic steering, completely sets it apart in the market. Hydraulic High-lift grass dumping allows Mr MacDonald to raise the bin up to two metres high and half a metre back to allow the grass to be discharged into a truck.

The key to the FD1500 fitting the application was it’s huge collection capacity – 900 litres. And with a substantial manicured lawn around the house, and keeping the vineyard and grove tidy, there is a lot of grass to be collected. Another major benefit for the Duck Creek Estate is that the FD1500 is extremely productive and very quiet. In Europe, users are finding productivity gains that previously took 2 - 3 collection mowers to achieve. It’s performance is really outstanding – it’s quieter – it gives amazing performance on slopes and it leaves a beautiful, quality finish without rear wheels scuffing.

Mr MacDonald is extremely satisfied with the FD1500 performance around the Vineyard and Oliver plantation. But his vision for the FD1500 doesn’t end there. As well as maintaining the lawn care needs of Duck Creek Estate, Mr MacDonald, with his son Dwain, have started Alien Lawncare, a professional lawn maintenance business which focuses on high quality, grass mowing applications. Inspired by the slightly out of this world appearance of the FD1500, Alien Lawncare is turning heads around the Warkworth and Matakana region, and with the huge amount of grass that the FD1500 collects, Mr MacDonald is also exploring opportunities to re-utilize it into compost.
