The Two Wheel Tractor was Grillo's original product when they started manufacturing in 1950. 60 years of testing and use has seen this orginal model grow into a range of versatile and powerful two wheel tractors that provide solutions to people in a variety of applications from small lifestly blocks and farms to market gardens.
Ultimate Versatility
With a range of attachments from traditional tillers and furrowers and ploughs to mower bars, snow-throwers, rotary sweepers, flail mowers, grass cutters, dumping towed trailers, and even chipper shredders, the Two Wheel Tractor is one of the most versatile machines you can have on a property. Reducing the number of machines on your property while increasing the application of activities you can perform brings a better return on the investment, saves space and machine storage and above all, only one machine has to be serviced and kept in good working order.
Quality Engineering
All Grillo Two Wheel Tractors have been designed with transmissions using precision gears and hardened steel shafts mounted on ball bearings. This type of transmission can draw on more than forty years' experience which is the best guarantee of reliability, designed to offer years of trouble free operation.
All Grillo Two Wheel Tractors have been designed with adjustable, ergonomic handlebars. Different models use various kinds of handlebar adjustment depending on their application. (Models designed to take both tilling and mowing attachments have reversible handles).
Smart Features
The quick adjustment device gives more effective leverage at the end of the row, during transport or during servicing.
Revolving handlebars pivot 180°. to allow multiple types of attachments to be fitted and used. Mowing attachments are fitted out the front of the machine with engine at the rear, by rotating the handlebars, the tilling attachment can be fitted behind the unit with engine at front (this provides balance). Height and width adjustment allow the operator to drive the machine from the right or left when tilling, mowing a lawn or using the snow-thrower. For this reason, the brake and clutch wires Grillo uses are twice the usual size.
Because the engine is in line with the transmission, all Grillo Two Wheel Tractors achieve a low centre of gravity . On other machines (e.g. those with belt drives) the engine is higher up, making them less stable.
All Grillo walking tractors are designed so that the machine's weight is over the tiller. This means the operator does not have to press down on the handlebar so hard to keep the tiller in the ground.
Grillo tiller tines turn 2O times for each revolution of the wheel. This allows the tines to chop the soil and vegetation into small pieces, producing an ideal growth medium for plants.
Grillo tillers break up the soil even underneath the transmission unit thanks to the adjustable depth stake.
Cheaper tillers leave an untilled strip 5-8 cm wide. What's more, the adjustable width steel tiller casing, has specially shaped side guards which do not act as a brake on the machine's progress (fully compliant with EC standards.) This retains the soil inside the tiller without clogging, tilling it more finely.
The 6-tine tiller (a Grillo exclusive) is also available in a choice of models. It tills the ground much more finely and provides excellent results on very hard and medium consistency soils (not recommended on wet clay soils).
The depth stake "foot" is easily adjustable from the outside for trouble free adjusting - even when at work, giving exactly the right setting for uniform tilling. This eliminates effort and the need to wrestle with spanners.
All Grillo Two Wheel Tractors have PTO engagement that is independent of the wheel drive. This allows the operator to disengage the PTO while the wheels are in motion, for safer transport.
Grillo Two Wheel Tractors are fitted with a mechanical device which automatically cuts out the PTO when the machine switches to reverse gear. The operator cannot engage reverse gear while the tiller tines are moving. This provides the operator with maximum protection.
The reverser unit allows switch passage to reverse gear from any speed - except the transport speed(quick control on handlebar in model GIO7). This is a great help, especially when using accessories such as the sickle bar, the rotary mower or a snow-thrower.
The Grillo G107D is fitted with differential - (easily locked when not required, such as for tilling) - and optional independent left-hand and right-hand brakes for easier turning and manoeuvring.
Grillo Two Wheel tractors are fitted with a professional class standard or inverted cone clutch produced in-house by Grillo: it wastes no power and extends the working life of the gearbox. There are also protective features on some accessories. For example, the mower bars for G52-GF1 machines feature a special clutch that provides protection if an obstacle jams the blade.
The engines installed on Grillo Two Wheel Tractors are all quality units that above all - give the right results for the intended type of use - they are all selected and tested in advance to guarantee the Grillo quality standards.
